Experienced team behind Nytorget’s newest hotspot

In the Nytorget neighborhood of Södermalm, Stockholm, a new building now houses a restaurant and bar, featuring expansive windows covering the entire ground floor. This is the new home of Ponti, led by Eloi Berthelin and Oskar Larsson. The duo met while working together at Babette, where they fell in love with pizza—leading them to open Galinas Pizza in Skanstull and later Schmaltz on Nybrogatan, inspired by New York’s delis.“Ponti” means “bridges” in Italian, and the concept centers on connecting the best of Italy and California, with a unique twist. It’s about bringing people, flavors, and cultures together in an inviting and relaxed atmosphere. The bar’s drinks and cocktails, along with Italian-roasted coffee, naturally follow the same theme. Step inside and let yourself be swept away for a little while.

We’ve done a few projects with Perfecta, and for us it was an easy decision to entrust them with building Ponti. Perfecta offers the reliability and expertise needed when constructing a kitchen from the ground up – from consulting on capacity, equipment selection and placement, everything turned out exactly as we envisioned. The dining room, bar, and kitchen are all efficient and functional spaces, making both staff and owners happy. Now we can focus on what we do best: cooking from scratch, excellent service, and delivering a great guest experience. A big thank you to Mikael and the team!

Perfecta´s delivery

In this building, there’s an unusually spacious and airy open kitchen, featuring an impressively long, centerpiece workbench reinforced with titanium at the heart of the kitchen. A pizza oven from Pizzamaster and combi ovens from Eloma are joined by one of the market’s most powerful electric grills from Heidebrenner, an induction stove from Fribergs, and a fryer from FriFri. Refrigerated counters in both the bar and kitchen, a marble-topped pizza prep fridge, freezer counter, refrigerators, freezers, tall wine coolers as well as under-counter wine storage in the dining room, and a wall-mounted beer cooler in the bar — all come from Haglund Industri. A pass-through dishwasher and glass washer from Winterhalter serve the dishwashing area and bar.  All stainless steel elements are custom-built, including the bartender’s station in the curved bar, water stations, and sink basins.

Can a wine cooler be built into a bar counter or custom joinery?

Yes, many models are designed for built-in installation with front ventilation. We also offer custom solutions with stainless-steel fronts or custom finishes.
